Functional training: train for life, not the mirror
April 22, 2026·5 min read
Mirrors lie. Life doesn't. Functional training builds a body that carries groceries, plays with kids, and still has gas at 9pm.
Bodybuilding isolates. Life integrates. The carry, the hinge, the squat, the push, the pull, the rotation — these are the six things your body actually does, all day, every day.
Functional training is not random. It is patterned, progressive, and brutally honest about where you are weak. We train movement under fatigue so that real life — the unplanned lift, the slip on the stairs, the long day on your feet — never breaks you.
The byproduct of training for capacity is usually the body you wanted from the mirror anyway. The difference is, this body works.
